What Is Gamely Connect? A Different Kind of NDIS Gaming Program in Moreton Bay

If you've been searching for something a bit different for your young person - or for yourself - you're not alone. Finding the right NDIS support that actually fits who you are can take a while. That's part of why Gamely Connect exists.

We're a supported social gaming space based in Caboolture South, and we're one of the only NDIS gaming programs in the Moreton Bay region built specifically around the neurodiverse community.

Gaming as a Starting Point, Not the End Goal

The idea behind Gamely Connect is pretty simple: when people share something they genuinely love, connection happens naturally.

For a lot of autistic and neurodiverse people, gaming is already a big part of life. It's comfortable, it's engaging, and it removes some of the pressure that comes with traditional social settings. We use that as a starting point. The gaming is real - we're talking proper gaming PCs, racing simulators, VR headsets, board games, and dedicated Dungeons & Dragons sessions - but what we're really here for is the community that builds around it.

What a Session Actually Looks Like

Our sessions run throughout the week for both teens and adults, in a sensory-friendly space in Caboolture South. We keep groups small - a maximum of eight participants - and we match each person to a session based on their interests and where we think they'll connect best with others.

From there, it's participant-led. You choose what you want to play. You go at your own pace. There are no forced icebreakers, no pressure to perform, and no expectation that you'll mask or pretend to be something you're not. Our support workers are there to make sure everyone feels safe and that connections have room to grow.

We also offer pick-up and drop-off within about 30 minutes of the centre, so getting here doesn't have to be a barrier.

Why Gaming for Autism and Neurodiversity Works

There's a growing body of research behind gaming for autism and social connection. Studies have found that shared gaming environments help reduce social anxiety, build communication skills, and create the kind of consistent, low-pressure community where real friendships can form over time.

What we've seen in practice backs that up. When people come back week after week and see the same familiar faces, something shifts. It stops being a "support session" and starts feeling like a place they actually belong.

Based in Caboolture South, Open to the Moreton Bay Region

We're located at 10/5 Poinciana Street, Caboolture South and we support participants from across the Moreton Bay region. Whether you're in Caboolture, Morayfield, North Lakes, or anywhere within about 30 minutes of us, we'd love to have a chat about whether Gamely Connect could be a good fit.

The first step is a free meet and greet at our space, so you can see it for yourself before committing to anything.
