One of the biggest barriers to accessing disability support services isn't willingness or funding - it's simply getting there. We know that transport challenges can mean the difference between isolation and connection, between missing out and joining in. That's why Gamely Connect offers transport services where we are able to, removing one more obstacle between neurodiverse individuals and their gaming community.

Understanding Transport Challenges

For many neurodiverse individuals and their families, transport presents unique challenges:

Sensory Overwhelm: Public transport can be unpredictable, crowded, and overwhelming. Unexpected delays, route changes, or sensory triggers can turn a simple journey into an anxiety-inducing ordeal.

Executive Function: Planning routes, checking timetables, managing connections - these executive function demands can be exhausting before the day even begins.

Family Logistics: Families juggling work, other children, and appointments often struggle to provide consistent transport, especially for sessions during business hours.

The Gamely Connect Transport Solution

We offer pick-up and drop-off services within approximately 30 minutes of our Caboolture South centre. But it's more than just a ride - it's the beginning of the Gamely experience.

How It Works:

Our support workers collect participants en route to sessions, arriving at our centre by session start time.

The journey becomes part of the social experience. Participants might discuss what games they're excited to play, share weekend gaming stories, or simply enjoy comfortable silence knowing they're with people who understand. For many, these car rides are where first friendships begin.

Expanding Access, Building Community

Transport might seem like a small detail, but it's often the make-or-break factor for participation. We've seen participants who tried multiple programs unsuccessfully, not because the programs were wrong, but because getting there was too hard.

Planning Your Transport

When you book your meet and greet, let us know if you need transport support. Before your first session we'll discuss:

  • If we can provide transport to and from your location

  • Pickup and drop-off times

  • Any specific needs during travel

Transport availability is limited and allocated based on need, distance, and session timing. We work hard to accommodate everyone and will do what we can to reduce your barriers to receiving support.
